My Ex Is Harassing Me

I wish I had better advice. I had to move out of state to get away from my ex-husband and even then he ended up following me. He still gives me some shit but once he started dating again it got better coz he wasn't as focused on me. Press harrassment charges on him and ask the prosecuting attorney to help getting a restraining order.

I've filed police reports to get the harassment on record. I've started recording his vm's with time stamps that show he calls right after I've told him to leave me alone. I would have to seek help getting his address or I'd already have a restraining order on him. Any advice on how to get that? Sounds like you've been through some shit worse than this, and Damn I'm sorry cause even this sucks!!!

You could try the courthouse. Will his family members that you still talk to not give you his address? You could talk to him just one more time to trick him into thinking you want to come talk to him in person so you can find out where he lives?

dont make any lies, dont do that ,this way , this will make it bigger and bigger , the only way is to ask him to stop annoying you , cause every thing is finished , and there is no chance , 2nd thing is to call his family ( the one u trust ) and close friends , asking them to tell him to stop annoying you any more , threat him , that if he came to you , you will shoot him in the fucking face , and dont forget to tell him that al ready you reporte his case to police and they already know, and they are looking for him but the address is not known (btw do it , call the fucking police ). and in the end change ur tone with him , and be strong.... ( those sensitive crazy guys needs shit like that ).

You need to keep a record of all his harrassment..dates,what he has said,done..save all texts..If you are close to any of his family members or friends you should talk to them about his behavior,and maybe they can help you. Talking to your ex IMO wouldn't do any good ..He obviously has no grip on reality and his actions speaks VOLUME than his words..I know you think he is all talk,but I've seen a quiet ,non violent person turn into a monster in seconds..so be cautious..

If you go to the courthouse and explain your situation,show them all his texts,etc.. they should be able to help you..Most states have stalking laws now..good luck.

if you seriously want this guy not to contact you, go file for restraining order. When he breaks it, which he will, call the police and show them the txt or whatever and it will lock his ass up.

or just keep blocking/deleting (recording/listening) and see how that goes.

My brother was like that, the drunker he got the more violent the messages he sent to his X...because she wouldn't answer anymore. She didn't have to if the talk turns ugly, CLICK.
But try telling that to a drunk or control freak who then tries to turn the tables and say YOU fucking suck for not being decent enough to answer a few questions don't ever fall for that trick and stand your ground! Keep your distance!!
They try self rationalize their behavior by twisting the sitch into you being the unreasonable one.

I had to stand there and watch the same kind of problems get played out, I was friends with the X but what could I do? He wouldn't listen to me or our mother.
Getting us to help..well we couldn't - not because we don't want to - because he wouldn't listen to us.
Like he's not listening to you. Thank God you got out before it really went south.

I might but, 1- I shouldn't have to, and the sense of him controlling me by making me do that enrages me. 2- We have two lines on our home phone that would have to be changed too and 3- we do have a few friends we both talk to and all it takes is one person... "oh sure I'll give you her new number" in one momentary lapse of reason ya know?

Maybe it's stupid but as I said, the sense of violation and of him in control of me by making me do something I don't want to do enrages me.



I'm considering it though. As I said we'd also have to change two other numbers as well. *sigh* Today when I didn't answer my cell, (I was napping and it was blocking his calls anyway but he did get to my voicemail) when I woke up I checked our house phone and he'd called that twice.

Do it anyway. A friend of his is no friend of yours, and as such, they don't need your number. You shouldn't have to, sure, but you're not being left with another choice from the sounds of it.

No I delete the original message but save the time stamped recording! *nods*

I Can't get a restraining order I don't have his address! But he gave it to me last night for some unknown reason minus city and zip so I'll look into that, I search it and the only thing that comes up is Ft Lauderdale so that is probably it.

And to all- I do have a log of all his texts as well, going back months, but I just started recording the messages before deleting them- before I just deleted them.

AND he knows I've made the police reports, twice. Just to have it on record if I go to court.

The married part he wouldn't care about if he don't care that I've been with someone else for a few months now... as far as my bf doing anything... WE DON'T KNOW WHERE HE IS! But I can say a time or two has come where my bf is praying he will show up when he threatens to, but he never does. This house is an armory and he knows better!
