The opening situation...I have experienced several times years apart in Rome. The gypsies do the same thing. They crowd around you and make noise clicking their tongues and putting card board in your face at chest height while you're distracted someone is grabbing your wallet from below and then pass it off from one person to another over and over to someone who takes off running. The first time it happened was to a friend at the colosseum... We were on an art history tour from a Canadian Uni. They attacked my bestie not knowing she was Italian and my friend slapped this kid so hard when she found her hand in her purse and reamed her out verbally in Italian. It was hilarious. This little street urchin was shocked.

Years later on my honeymoon we watched it happen to a man at the train station. It was terrible, he was an older tourist... totally taken by surprise. Of course he grabbed the nearest girl to him but his wallet was long gone... the girl started screaming that he was sexually assaulting her as he tried to find the wallet under her shirt. It was almost as if she motioned under her top deliberately to get him to grab her there. And of course he was surrounded again by men either in on the gig or thinking the girl was really being attacked.

The gypsy women will literally stick their babies with pins to make them cry to cause a disturbance and distraction.

There are whole platforms specifically to teach about the various cons and scams at different tourist destinations.

I've watched a few youtubers who's travel vlog tales can just suck the wanderlust right out of you.

Indian people will pick a whole chicken and want the skin removed and chopped up in small pieces, bone and all. I'll toss the organs and the skin.

India is still feudal in many respects. The local butchers often do this job to the customer's satisfaction at no extra charge. The offal is the good part about a chicken hear and liver especially, I don't remember the last time i enjoyed a whole chicken breast and thigh and all.
