I'd give this one an 8 outta 10. The only thing that I didn't like was Sam Elliot trying to portray a hard-assed Sgt. - I love his acting but this character was not him.

Agreed with the Sam Elliot part, and that was the only reason I watched the film..
Hell of a position to be in as a leader though.

Battle for Haditha - 02-10 Tales like that are as old as war itself, only the ones that were there know what happened.

"Red Cliff "was a great movie it's in Chinese with English subtitles but don't let that put you off, the battle scenes are fantastic and put anything Hollywood has to offer to shame, it doesn't go overboard with mysticism which I see as a bonus as that stuff put's me to sleep, and there is minimal CGI in it too which makes for a more story driven movie, I score it a worthy eight out of ten.

388 Arletta Avenue, despite a few plot holes, this was a maddening stalker mind - fuck movie. Nick Stahl put in a good performance (as usual) Recommended for those who enjoy harrowing psychological torture.

I was watching a South Korean flick, War of the Arrows, very good action, other good SK films Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War, and Shiri a movie about a North Korean Assassin. The opening of Shiri is pretty intense.

I mentioned this from another thread, but to all of you who like those Brazil threads, the police action film Tropa De Elite(Elite Squad) might be up your alley. Put it this way the gangs of LA or New York are no match for those in the Favelas of Rio

Was disappointed in this one. Plot was too predictable, the actors playing the Mexicans don't look Mexican, and the action was ok - but I still fell asleep watching it. On the flip-side, that acting was decent.

A one time watch.

Great review man, i watched it after reading this and u were spot on.

"Old Boy" is a good movie if a little strange, it's Korean and is a little surreal but once you figure out what is going on it all comes together nicely. 7/10
