There was a guy in Darwin who was drunk as a lord and came into his local pub saying he'd caught a python. He had it in a sack and hauled it out to show everyone. He'd been bitten by this thing a few times already. When everyone saw it they knew it was a king brown snake, super venomous.

Pythons have a specificly shaped head with heat sensors along side the jaws. They don't look like any other snake.
Those vertical looking scales are the heat sensor organs.
A few species of snakes have them, called pit organs, but in. pythons they are very obvious.
