Police Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians S.W.A.T. Shoot an Unarmed Man

The case dates to Dec. 13, 2022, in Murphy NC, after Jason Harley Kloepfer's neighbor called 911, expressing concern that Kloepfer had hurt his wife and saying gunshots had been heard.

Video recorded on a camera Kloepfer had inside his home showed he and his wife were asleep when a Cherokee Indian Police SWAT team demanded Kloepfer come out with his hands up. Kloepfer's home camera showed him picking up a robotic camera police had placed inside before he opened the camper door. Officers said they saw what looked like a weapon in Kloepfer's hand before they fired

Kloepfer was shot twice, with one bullet going through his chest and cutting through his stomach and lining of his heart, cracking his ribs and leaving shrapnel in his chest. Court records showed a second bullet struck just above Kloepfer’s elbow.

“He’s very upset,” said Kloepfer’s attorney Ellis Boyle, who’s filed a civil lawsuit against the officers involved. “As you can imagine, it shakes your faith in the system when law enforcement officers who were sworn to uphold peace and law show up at your house for no reason, and when they finally wake you up at 4:57 in the morning, they got shot.”

As of 2024, special prosecutor assigned to review potential criminal conduct by police officers in the shooting of an unarmed man in Cherokee has decided no charges are warranted.

Mixed feelings. Robots and swat. Make me feel he has some reputation? How ever unarmed and get shot, not deserved.
I thought the same thing. But after looking into his arrest report, he only had verbal warnings of disturbing the peace or verbal assault. One of my friends who use to work with ECBI-PD said that the neighbor who called also had said "he was holding his wife hostage" (word of mouth unsure if true or not.) If true, it wouldn't matter what was on his past record, but still doesn't mean "shoot immediately "

Yeas. Quite a massive force to use baced a ”rumor” call. Police surely checked his almost clean record. If thats the case, police should be charged. Okey, he has an objeckt in his hand, but it shouldnt be more than one man with binoculars ( they were a swat team, surely should be one) to see its not a gun. If all above is correct, they shoot a totally innocent man. So glad he survived. I would make it to the sivil court. And video cristal clear proof of false call, they were sleeping in peace.

Civil Court is scheduled sometime in 2025.

Fuck me he had his hands up as well. American cops are fucking dickheads. Those bullets could have gone through him and hit her.
If they pull you for a traffic stop or show up at your home you are at risk of being shot. Loads of vids on here of them doing it.

this is why your only response to cops should be "fuck you, kill yourselves"
