I'm actually shocked they put that kind of effort into this plan. Gen Z are couch cushions and door mats
InterestingI was just beginning to read the history of 19th century American Filibusters when this story broke. For anyone interested, the Filibusters were private American citizens who raised their own armies and then invaded small poor nations in attempts to seize power for themselves and turn all the citizens into slaves.
One of the most successful Filibusters was a man named William Walker, who in 1855 invaded and conquered Nicaragua. He made himself the president, captured merchant ships, decked them out with cannons and engaged in naval warfare with South American navies that had formed a coalition agaisnt him, and he won - for a time. Eventually he lost and had his head chopped off.
Since he was operating outside the jurisdiction of the US government, or so they claim, little official history is written of him in the US, but he is a well known historic villain in Nicaragua. I highly recommend this book William Walker's Wars by Scott Martelle.
