It's a statistical average, it has no insight at all. You could have a group of left-wingers and show a link between "low intelligence" (vague term) and liberal ideologies. Also, there are a ton of other factors that influence why one person chooses to be conservative. And it's a "link", study doesn't prove a direct causal factor.

Lastly, conservatism ≠ racism. There are many conservatives that aren't racist at all.
