On Wednesday night (4), three people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack. A 20-year-old man, a 16-year-old teenager and a 30-year-old woman were captured in the municipality of São Benedito, neighboring Ibiapina, during an action by the Military Police of Ceará.
According to the Military Police, teams from CPRaio (Command of Policing Rounds of Intensive and Ostensive Actions) were conducting investigations to locate the perpetrators of the attempted homicide when they received images of the crime. The suspects already had criminal records, were recognized by the military police officers, and identified as members of a criminal group originating from Rio de Janeiro , operating in the region.
The 20-year-old man was located in the Toca do Quati neighborhood, in São Benedito. The teenager was found in the Cidade Alta neighborhood. At the residence where he was, police seized two revolvers, a pistol, 20 rounds of ammunition, as well as 34 grams of marijuana and 13 grams of cocaine hidden in a drain in the backyard.
The 30-year-old woman, who was sheltering the teenager, was also arrested. The trio was taken to the São Benedito Civil Police Station, along with the seized material.
The two adults were charged with attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and drug trafficking. The teenager will face charges for offenses analogous to attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. All remain at the disposal of the Justice system."
