I have been studying agriculture for the past couple of years and have come to the conclusion that if the Green Party actually passed all the laws it intended without resistence, most humans on Earth would starve to death.
This is principally because our food supply is tied to an artificial fertilizer derived from Natural Gas called Ammonium Nitrate. The Green Party wants to eliminate the use of petroleum based fertilizer not understanding that 75% of all the calories in food, and thus our bodies, is a result of petrochemical based fertilizers that have been in use since the 1910's.
These fertilizers have been used to artificially increase the yields of farm land 3 fold, that means one area of land that naturally would produce 1 sack of grain, now produces 4. The huge spike in the human population since the early 20th century was primarily the result of this innovation, known as the Haber-Bosch Process, increasing the food supply and lowering prices.
The Earth's natural fertilizers, in use sicne the 1850's such as guano, were exhausted by the turn of the 20th century, and all the great minds including Albert Einstein concluded 75% the world was doomed if the Nitrogen Problem couldn't be solved. Fossil Fuels solved the problem and the process for using them to make fertilizer has remained unchanged for over a century.
A case study of what happens when artificial fertilizers are banned can be observed in 2021 Shri Lanka when the government banned it for Environmental Justice reasons. Within a single growing season entire crops failed, there were food riots, and by 2022 the government was overthrown and the nation collapsed into anarchy which it is still recovering from to this day.
