bizarre Migrant encouraged to kill himself

Police firearms officers responded to reports of a man with a bladed weapon in the Calders area of the city at 08:25.

The two injured people have been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and police say there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public. The suspect is thought to be holed up in an 11th-floor flat.

A Police Scotland statement said the incident was not being treated as terror-related.

Two local men, who didn't want to be named, said they saw the suspect armed with two blood-stained knives outside a shop shortly after the incident began.

"I got out of my car and the guy came up to me with his hands behind his back. He said, can I speak to you," one man told the BBC.

"He had the two knives behind his back, covered in blood."

The man said an onlooker handed him a spirit level which he then used to confront the suspect.

"He handed me the spirit level and we just started going for it," the man said.

"He started going towards the school so I was just trying to chase him back. He's coming towards me the whole time."

"The police were there but they said they weren't allowed to get out of their car because it was a firearms incident.

"He walked away up to the flats."

Firearms officers are routinely deployed to knife incidents and were seen going into the block of flats.

Paramedics wearing helmets and body armour were also in attendance.

The man suspected of being involved in the incident later appeared at the window of an 11th floor flat in the multi-storey block, looking down at the crowd below.

Members of the public were seen shouting at him and the police extended their cordon to move them further back.

At the scene, people from other flats in the block could be seen at their windows.

Pictures from the scene of the incident show at least six police vehicles outside Cobbinshaw House, a tower block of flats, as well as armed police officers.

Footage which has been circulating on social media shows a man walking in the area holding two large knives, as well as a shop which had been damaged.

William Ramsay, who lives in the area in the west of the city, said he believed the man with the weapons had entered the stairwell of his building.

"He smashed the local shop, possibly stabbed two people unconfirmed," he told the Press Association.

"Armed police, dogs been here for about two hours."

What a complete faggot.

I'd probably say something to him for that shit. I almost whipped out a knife and/or bear mace on a crazy nog earlier for doing some goofy shit earlier today. Hilarious, because I think he's one of the regulars from the liquor store that i work at the buys cheap vodka. This nigger brings up 2 bottles every time, but only buys the one the cashier didn't touch, smfh.

The cops aren't allowed to get out of the car for a "firearms incident"?! What a bunch of pussified faggots. Why even have cops? I guess they're just kept around to imprison people for using mean words...
There are police and armed police im guessing they were waiting for the armed police.

Yeah. I just have a hard time understanding why any of their cops are unarmed. When seconds count, the armed cops are only minutes away. Just 3-4 minutes can cost a LOT of lives, even if the assailant only has a knife.
I dunno after watching american cops im kinda glad not all police are armed in the uk

these are police, they're just girls playing social workers. About the subject, the UK is toast.
  • Homicide Rates: The US homicide rate is substantially higher, with data showing 4-6 times more murders per capita than the UK. In 2023, the US homicide rate was 5.76 per 100,000, compared to significantly lower figures in the UK.
  • Violent Crime & Guns: The US sees far more violent crime, partly driven by high gun accessibility, with over 75% of US homicides committed with guns, a rarity in the UK.
  • Assault and Rape: Data indicates the US has higher rates of assault and rape compared to the UK.
  • Perceived Safety: While specific cities like London have high crime, overall perceived safety and crime indices often rank the UK as safer than the US.
  • Incarceration: The US incarceration rate is vastly higher, with over 2 million prisoners compared to roughly 78,000 in the UK.
The US consistently has a higher rate of knife murders than the UK. In 2025, the US experienced 1,739 knife homicides (0.52 per 100,000) compared to 235 in England and Wales (0.35 per 100,000)

UK residents live, on average, roughly 2.5 to 3 years longer than those in the US, with life expectancy in the UK around 81 years compared to 76–78 years in the US. The gap is driven by higher US mortality rates from preventable causes, including cardiovascular disease, drug overdoses, gun violence,

  • Higher Mortality Rates: Children and teenagers (ages 1-19) in the U.S. are 80% more likely to die than their counterparts in other wealthy countries.

Yeah ill stick to the uk. Once we start getting to america levels then ill consider us "toast"
