Babies and toddlers are fucking insane to look after. Strangely no matter how well kept a house is .. they are able to magically find a ball bearing that was lost in the 40's from under a crack in a wall somewhere and fucking choke on it !

My 18 month old did something similar. She just started walking, got by the wife, got to the kitchen behind me and pulled a pot of hot, not boiling, water off the stove and onto her arm. It took seconds.
I grabbed the fridge water bottle out and poured it on her skin, went to the ER, and she never even scarred.

I'm PROOF .. not sure if I ever shared the story of when I was a toddler I took off in a shopping mall and (well it's all hearsay, but) apparently I followed a visually impaired person home because of their dog and nobody found me for a whole afternoon.

The baby doesn't appear be acting as if it was touching something hot or has been dowsed in a hot liquid. It didn't react to the liquid being dumped over it's entire body. I would expect violent flailing and other visible signs of extreme pain. It just tried to back out of the situation.
