I'm currently aboard the International Space Station. Sending this message cost the U.S. taxpayers $100,000Just curious answer if you want ignore if you don't. What country/state are you from? Im living in the bs state of California in the armpit of the state city of bakersfield.
Some batches do be fine as hell here. Some look like a walking dumpster fireBakersfield is definitely an armpit. But we have the #1 economy of all the states and #4 in the world because we’re a blue state. And don’t forget the bitches View attachment 997915
It’s always hit or miss. As you get closer to LA where I’m at they definitely get finer but also freakierSome batches do be fine as hell here. Some look like a walking dumpster fire

Not so fast, that #1 economy is overshadowed by the second highest cost of living, which heavily contributes to the largest homeless population in the country. California is a great place to be if you're independently wealthy, but the abysmal minimum wage of $16.90 is peanuts when a shitty apartment runs over $2k per month. To live decently almost requires a $200k yearly salary. It's so bad that many of Google's highest paid employees have resorted to living in RV's.Bakersfield is definitely an armpit. Disagree. No state is perfect. Not even Hawaii. I’m a firm believer that a person is responsible for their position in life. I despise those who blame the system or others for their unhappy life. If a person lives reasonably and makes wise life decisions, it’s a great living here. If same person has unplanned pregnancies, ends up on minimum wage, lives beyond their means and puts themselves at a disadvantage, then yes life can be tough. Not so fast, that #1 economy is overshadowed by the second highest cost of living, which heavily contributes to the largest homeless population in the country. California also has the absolute worst red tape, permits, taxes and fees just to build your own house or make alterations to an existing one. Want to install an in-ground pool? That's $150k right there.
Eventually, the Big One will (pardon the pun) level the playing field by destroying everything that makes California attractive. Sorry man, but Californians don't realize just how bad they're being fucked.
And how long ago was that pool built? I have a friend that lives in L.A. and he tells a completely different story. He lucked out on the dot com bubble, but he isn't like crazy wealthy. Just barely a millionaire I think, and he makes it sound like the working class are just scraping by. I haven't been there to see for myself, and I would probably pass on the opportunity anyway, it would be my luck the Big One would happen just as I stepped off the plane.Disagree. Make $200,000 here and you got it made. Only those who didn’t prepare for life are being fucked here. I built my 4000sqft home from the ground up. Of course there were permits, taxes and fees. So what, I paid them and now have my dream home.
$150K for an inground pool? Bull shit, I paid $50,000 for my large pool including a diving board, waterfalls and baja reefs.
Yes.Freaky good or freaky bad?
I know many working class here and they’re thriving. Yes don’t come here if you’re going to bring the quake with you. We Californians know we’re in earthquake country and we’re ok with it. Every state has natural disasters, there’s no escaping earth’s fury. What state are you in Kitt? And how long ago was that pool built? Born and raised in the Bay Area. Now in the midwest. People look at me funny when I tell them anything under a 5 is a baby quake, while the media freaks out at around a 3.I know many working class here and they’re thriving.
