Yeah I don't really know if you can call it good, the action in it is the guy just gunning down a bunch of unsuspecting people in the streets for a half hour.

Shigurui - 12 episode anime; advances slowly but has gory bits, shitty boring ending
New Fist of the North Star - 3 episode OVA; The legend of Hokuto Shinken lives on in a brutal way

Claymore - 26 episode anime. Oddly enough, it shares the same charasteristics with Berserk such as sad, overall plot & gore in almost each episode, highly recommended!
