According to news reports from September 25, 2025, a pregnant woman is in a coma in the intensive care unit after overdosing on acetaminophen (Tylenol).
Details of the case
Posts on social media sites like Facebook have reported the incident. One account from Christina Aguayo News, citing American Frontline Nurses founder Nicole Sirotek, states the woman was brought to the ICU with severe liver failure and was placed on a ventilator.

The overdose is alleged to have occurred as a stunt to "prove wrong" statements made by former President Donald Trump regarding acetaminophen's potential link to autism.
The woman reportedly has severe liver failure, is on a ventilator, and is not expected to survive.
The woman is reportedly between 23 and 25 weeks pregnant. The unborn baby is now also fighting for its life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Overdosing on acetaminophen (Tylenol) can have serious consequences.
Dangers of acetaminophen overdose
Acetaminophen overdose is a leading cause of acute liver failure, which can be fatal. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, followed by jaundice, confusion, and eventually coma.
Danger during pregnancy: In high doses, acetaminophen can cause liver damage to both the mother and the fetus, with potential complications including premature labor and death.
While safe at recommended doses, toxic amounts of acetaminophen can cross the placenta and cause fetal hepatic necrosis.
Treatment and prognosis
The antidote for acetaminophen poisoning, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), is most effective when administered within eight hours of ingestion.
Delayed treatment, especially when accompanied by signs of liver failure and acidosis, carries a poor prognosis. In severe cases, a liver transplant may be needed to save the mother's life.
