Funny A man who converted a staple gun into a firearm and tested it in a field has been jailed this month following a British Transport Police investigation

Jamie Young, 45, was stopped on a train in March 2024 after an off duty officer reportedly saw him "using drugs", which lead to officers searching his belongings where they found the homemade gun in his suitcase at St Albans City station. Footage of him firing the gun was also recovered from his phones.

After pleading guilty earlier this year to manufacturing and possessing a firearm, Young was sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on December 8th to five years in prison.
