Man I was hoping that pit would get bit by the snake.
Also I was hoping the snake was venomous

It is very possible that dog died shortly after this event.
That's what I think happened. I think they both killed each other.

I was walking Ruby (my staffie) last week when I noticed her sniffing around in the leaf litter just off the side of the track. I called her over to me and had a look. 6' brown snake. Highly venomous. I moved a little closer to get a better picture and the fucker reared up at me! Hot weather, 35c, so it was very energised... I beat a hasty retreat.
I killed a juvinile the cat was hassling on my garden path the other day. Only about 12" long but they are even worse than the adults as they cannot regulate their venom so give more of it in a bite. Deadly little fuckers too...
