Looks like lightning hit the fence and went to ground and the cows got shocked foot to foot path.
It looks like they were running and they ran to the fence line and got fried.
That's cow tipping wholesale style.
After living on a farm as a young boy this looks like work to me. We would have to bury all these damn cows that day.

While I appreciate farmers they are always on the grift so expected a comment like this, "they always lose the prize cow":
“A guy tries to build up for years and years. You get a cow herd built up and then something like this comes along. Naturally it always takes some of the better ones"
What I don't understand is why these beef sacks were all in a line by the fence. But given some other pictures I found it seems to have happened before.
