Unlike modern beer, it was brewed from fermented bread, honey, or dates, had a milky/porridge-like consistency, tasted sour with a hint of wet clay, and contained only 3.5–6.5% alcohol — drunk through a straw.


3.5–6.5% alcohol? Bloody hell. Back in me boozing days, me own piss probably clocked in around 3.5–6.5%.

But I'm sure 4,000 years ago that was proper good gear. Cheers anyway, lads.
