I read up on Dr Deacon. He was a very popular SPAZ back in the day. Wonderful stuff.

I used to work with a lot of cerebral palsy guys and girls in a big residential centre in Melbourne. Some of them were funny as hell. One guy had come down from the country and I was his arms and legs for the fortnight. The only time I was ever in a brothel was with him to get him laid for the first time. Helped the worker lay him out on the bed and then left despite her asking me if I'd like to watch... I spent the half hour or so with the other girls in the tea room. Nice bunch of chicks really...

He used to smoke so one time, waiting for a train, he was having a smoke. We then got on the train and I noticed him acting odd. I couldn't work it out but then noticed a tendril of smoke coming out of the neck of this T shirt... he'd dropped his smoke down his shirt! So on this crowded train, moving along the tracks, I got out my water bottle and started pouring it down the inside of this shirt... People had no idea what was going on... hysterical.

Thanks for posting Monk, I just knew it was someone lighting the fires. My only niece & her husband lost their first home, just ashes. They had to escape with their cat leaving their car on the hills and they ran towards the beach. They got to my sister's house after walking the opposite direction for about 8 miles where my sister was waiting for them. They had no extra clothes, no luggage, no nothing. Lost everything. But we are all so happy they are alive.

Indeed, the late Joey Deacon (and his two mates) were popularised in the 1980s. He was a legend and the king of spastics, RIP.
