animals Australian Kangaroo Snake

lol when i was a kid in australia if you went to far from built up areas you could encounter lots.... as a young fella i got kicked by a wild kangaroo ... 8 stitches
bitten by a redback... just got a little fever not very sick... must have been a male... and i nerly got sent to hospital after unknowingly swimming into a bluebottle swarm in bundaberg

One tenth of a bite from that buggah can kill 1,500 men, women and children in a fleet of charter buses headed out of Canberra, especially if it's in one of their infamous tempers! Luckily that one couldn't stand the hot ground and hopped away before getting angry! Their bite wounds have been known to swell up to the size of Uluru in the southwest Northern Teratree on one of its extra swollen, red, puffy evenings (first picture)! It'll stay that way too, until a nice rain cools it down (note the steam in the second picture). Loves me some Oz! It's like a whole other world!

My family moved to Australia when I was 2 we lived in a house with stilts at the back end apparently I used to go under the house and swing on the pipes telling my da to come in and get me 🤣he's still puzzled to this day wondering how I never got bitten they moved back to Scotland within a year, presumably for my safety 😂
