To me this is a terrifying image.

When I search for the dangers of bamboo scaffolding, a British website suggest that bamboo is safer to use than metal for two reasons.

1. When a segment falls it weighs less and causes less damage to objects and people below than a piece of metal.
2. In an earthquake it is less likely to shake apart.
