A shooting happened early Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, around 2:50 a.m. in the Ford City Mall parking lot during an overnight drag racing scene.

Martin Murillo, a 21-year-old man from South Bend, Indiana, was shot in the head.

Initial reports stated that he was in critical condition and had been taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Later updates confirmed that he was pronounced dead.
