I saw this map of the shooters position... and some ideas:

• 130 yards: not a long shot by any means.
• nice long unobstructed view down the rows of the rotunda and right to Kirk. Now that's taken some recon before hand. That shows someone who can plan.
• He was far enough away that he was able to exit without being caught or seen, as far as we know. Is he just lucky or is this a pro hit from someone who doesnt want this guy in the running for president next time round?
• And who would benifit from that?

Anyway, just ideas...

He was wearing body armour under his tshirt. It was a center of mass torso shot. The round ricochet off his armour and into the side of his neck.

I too speculated earlier that i wonder if this was supposed to be a staged event where he should of lived though it. Witjout the ricochet and neck wound he would of survived. It would of been an empowering moment much like when trump was shot in the ear and said fight while pumping fist in air. This would of made Kirk a big hero to have surprised new voters. Just what the people needed. Unfortunately things didnt go to plan.

I feel like the angle of that shot and his body reacting to it indicates he died long before he got to hospital. It really looks like the bullet did spinal damage and possibly spun upwards into the back of the head. I mean, how many videos have we seen on here where someone gets shot in the neck and are still semi mobile before collapsing. Maybe it was the caliber that makes this one so much worse, but all that being said. The hole was big enough and damage severe enough to send that much blood out that quickly, doesnt line up with reports in the media about how he was in critical condition before passing at the hospital.
