A gunman opened fire Thursday at Florida State University, killing two people and wounding at least six others, police said. The 20-year-old gunman is the son of a sheriff’s deputy whose former service weapon was used in the shooting, authorities said.

The two people who died were not students at the university, but the shooter is believed to be a student, said Florida State University Police Chief Jason Trumbower.

Six people were being treated at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Trumbower said, and the shooter is also receiving medical attention.

Don't know where you are getting your info. But as someone who works on campus and is very active at FSU, Tallahassee police had fully secured the campus by about 3:15PM EST. There has been social media reports of multiple shooters, but as of now police have ID'd Phoenix Ikner. There were reports of a suspect shooting themselves, but this has been uncorroborated. This is a HEAVILY populated spot on campus, and TPD was also holding a live T.A.C (SWAT) team practice today around the same time, a few miles away just south of the capital on South Adams St.
