“A study found that 12 out of 13 sharks tested off Brazil's coast were positive for benzoylecgonine, a leading ingredient for cocaine.”

Lol, I read an article about these sharks off the coast of Brazil yesterday. They tested positive but the researchers best educated guess was it was more due too the waters having been contaminated versus the sharks actually directly consuming any cocaine themselves. I also smelled a hint of BS possibly because they used their initial grant money, collected their very small sample of sharks, tested them but, it was also to request additional money for further studies. That leaves room for deception when it comes to asking for additional funding. Also why was their sample so small?

The only interesting take from this is the drug severely damages the eyesight of sharks and makes it harder for them to hunt and eventually it will kill them off.

also the fishies they would eat contained coke and when pkgs (and pkgs) of coke would get dumped overboard, for various obvious reasons.
pretty fucked up shit if ya ask me.
