One of the best bits of real life gore i witnessed, was a cow trampling. I’ve mentioned this a good while ago.
I did my first 2 Foundation Training years in Carlisle in North West England. It’s fairly rural.
A guy made the mistake of walking his dog into a cow field. The cows surrounded them, to get the dog. The dog escaped fine but the guy got trampled.
Almost every rib was broken leading to flail chest, and his skull was fractured to the point his face was distorted.
You could see his heart beating through the skin of his chest because the ribs were destroyed. I watched his heart stop beating as he died.
A milder version of flail chest, named after the injury sustained from ye old days after being whacked with a flail…
