An interesting piece of trivia: the original name for the bald eagle was the "ball-stealing eagle." This is what they were known for, for hundreds of years. They would steal balls from native American children. About the time the US adopted the eagle as it's national bird, they decided to change the name because of the word 'stealing.' It's kind of put the nation in a bad light. And so the ball-stealing eagle is known today as the bald eagle. I don't make this shit up.
