FYI Dr Fart Tube’s Live Well and Happy- Microbiome pt 2

I’ve continued my geek journey on the microbiome. I still believe it is one of the most important things to consider in terms of our overall health and well-being.

Part 1 can be found here

I’ve just completed Tim Spector’s book ‘Food for Life’ which is very good. He’s generally against using supplements, but I personally think supplements are helpful and often more cost effective than his ‘best selling author’s salary’ diet.

Diversity is key to maintaining a healthy microbiome. This means it it beneficial to eat a wide variety of plant foods to give a wide variety of fibres and polyphenols. I still take probiotics, Inulin and have as much live fermented foods as possible. Remember nuts, seeds, grains, herbs and beans all count so it’s quite easy to get a good blend.

This lecture is very informative and is the basis for this part 2 thread. I hope you find it useful.

Love it! I wholeheartedly agree about the importance of the microbiome and its role in complete health. You speak about diversity in the diet, this is how previous generations ate & lived. No extremes and a little bit of everything is the key.....and yes @Graziani IMO even a moderate amount of pasta, meat, etc. is just fine.

FT, I know you are an expert so I value your opinion. I drank some fermented grapes, tonight, like a whole bottle, but tomorrow I will, try to incorporate the other things into my diet. I do believe gut health is key to overall health, but I'm no expert, just some divorced guy who drinks to forget his marriage. Oh, yeah...I will get back to nuts and the other things tomorrow. I seriously appreciate your advice. I really do.
