You obviously have never driven in Sydney. This is near my house. That intersection (left lane) is notorious for backing up 500 meters and more. People get in the left lane and wait patiently for 10 minutes to turn left. There is always a handful of fuckwits that try cut in from the outside lane instead of waiting in line. I never let these fuckwits in either.
