I remember back in the day when I was a 'lil reaper, we used to help such children with basic math, reading and their lacking social skills and understanding at their special schools for an hour each day for a semester, not torment, traumatize, humiliate and then laugh at them. One could really see the mental hamster wheels churning as they tried with all their might to understand the work we did with them. If we all regularly applied their kinds of sincere effort to whatever we did, we'd all be geniuses or at the very least quite expert at such tasks, indeed! Everyone involved actually looked forward to such interactions as it truly helped them along with coping skills and basic living thought (Thot!) processes you know, making our world better than we found it! That's why they became mostly functional and productive members of society in their own slower way! Things such as sarcasm are generally lost on them all as that is a more sophisticated and advanced thought process because it is not literal and such "special needs" folks exist exclusively within the literal realm of thinking. This is also noted among those afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease, too.
We taped the "normal" classmates to chairs with real duct tape until they had to use the toilet, then we'd release them so they could go, also relieving them of any cumbersome arm hair. This was packing tape, not that it matters or was less traumatizing to the type of person involved here due to the binding and then laughing at the child instead of with them. Folks today just don't get it. You don't torment those that have special needs, don't know better and don't understand such disciplinary actions. You give them precisely what they need, by law, hence the term "special needs", the fucking "normal" derps! The ones you discipline are the ones that know exactly what it means, so they don't do their anti-social and stupid shit in the future!
Some of us are just bound (Get it, bound?) to go in perpetual circles on their learning curves! I expect as much today in those communities because there are far too many of us now, such that many special needs youth fall tragically through the cracks. If only actual enacted civil rights laws such as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the ADA and ADAAA were actually enforced instead of not even considered as suggestions, then our world would be a much better place for everyone. The majority of citizens today don't even know about these laws and that's a travishamockery and an indictment of not only our educational systems, but also of our legal, justice, national and global systems and societies as wholes. We shouldn't have to have such individuals in our families to know all of this, but it's the embarrassment and the stigma of the conditions that prevent the spreading of such vital information.
