I don't understand how this happens to people. Are their bones defective? Not enough milk in their diet growing up?
Sometimes the body is just super solid until it isn't. Especially at joints and at certain angles. Humans are strongest when swinging directly down because we used to be arboreal. Downward force is easy and has a lot of leverage for us, but for some reason he decided to come at a weird side angle with only one hand on it.

All the force of the impact went into the elbow and not to the piece of wood he was trying to chop. When doing high impact activities like this, fencing, using a sledgehammer remember to make sure your form is up to par before you do absolutely anything or you can end up like this guy, or blow out your rotary cuffs, or worse.

Must be. He doesn't look old enough to have osteoporosis or something similar.
I'll have to remember not to move where there's a fireplace, I'd undoubtedly hurt something if I tried chopping wood again like I'm still young. πŸ˜–
