'Expect it to be crowded': What to know as Ohio dispensaries begin selling recreational weed! 🌲💨

Enjoy it my beautiful Ohio fellow Americans! You guys make me proud!

Full article from local news:

‘CINCINNATI (WKRC) —

More than half of Ohio voters said they wanted recreational marijuana legalized, and on Tuesday, people will have their first chance to buy legal recreational weed.

Those shops are already expecting to see a big demand from day one.

"We expect it to be very crowded. Obviously, there's a lot of excitement and anticipation over this, but stores will open up, and I think people will be very surprised when they come into a dispensary for the first time and see what the experience is like," Sunnyside Spokesman Jason Erkes said.

Erkes said the staff is anticipating a lot of questions from customers. He also said not to expect to see big jars of marijuana with workers weighing out buds, though.

"Everything is pre-packaged and child safety sealed, with a full selection of flowers, vapes, concentrates, and edibles. [A] very knowledgeable staff person to walk them through the whole process to make sure they pick the right consumption method for what they want, and most importantly, pick the right dose to make sure they have a good experience," Erkes said.

The law is set up to treat marijuana similarly to alcohol, meaning you must be 21 and have a valid ID to purchase recreational marijuana. You don't have to be from Ohio either, so it's expected that people from Kentucky and Indiana will take advantage of the sales as well.

One thing to keep in mind if you're coming from Kentucky or Indiana is that it's still illegal in those states. You could get a ticket or worse for possession, especially if you have a firearm in the vehicle.

There's also a limit on how much a person can buy. You're allowed two and a half ounces of flower or 15 grams of edibles or extracts. Another thing to keep in mind is how you plan on purchasing marijuana. Plan to bring cash or use an ATM at the dispensary. Since marijuana is still illegal on a federal level, most, if not all, dispensaries will not allow credit card transactions.

The number of dispensaries will gradually increase as the state approves more to start selling. You can grow your own, but you can't purchase it from another state where marijuana is legal and bring it back to Ohio. Only products created and taxed in Ohio are legal.’

Ohio....the sphincter of America.

depends what your looking for eric. if your looking into amish style life (not saying become amish, but you can pretend),then ohio is the place for you.
theres a place for everybody. they just have to find it. or settle for what they have.

You been there?
Unfortunately. Took me 10 years to get out. Cincinnati. So many places to spend your life. Places with something, anything, like weather, scenery, good people....Ohio has nothing. Drugs, hustlers, terrible weather. And it really tries to keep you, somehow. Go with caution.

I’m guessing it holds you because it’s cheap there? Also it’s hard for humans to move away from a familiar place but that’s true of anywhere. I thought the mid west has more community minded people?
