Maybe it's because I've become accustomed to the normal reactions when one is given this heartbreaking information about a loved one, but I find the mother's reaction to rather very odd, to say the least; I'm used to guttural screams of immense and complete agony, audible crying, or even shocked silence, but she acted the way one would if they were told a child got a bad grade on a report card, rather than that their child isn't just injured but DEAD.
As for the father, he seemed to be taking the death of his son at his own hand better than, God forbid, I ever would; hard to say if he initially felt shock, which would explain the subdued initial reaction, and then a wave of guilt or if the guilt was a later ploy meant to illicit sympathy.
Terrible situation though for their other surviving son, lost his brother and his father in one fell swoop. I'm unable to tell if they have any other children, can't seem to find an obituary for this Eric Contreras.
