holy shit what a funny story!Dr Tube story…
When I was a junior doctor working in my 2nd A&E (ER) rotation, a hulk sized bodybuilder was brought in by his adult bodybuilder sons after taking an overdose of an unknown cocktail of meds. He also had signs of a head injury (bruising and grazes).
On arrival he was unconscious, but his muscles were twitching, dripping in sweat, pupils dilated and pulse was around 200. Needless to say this was all very concerning and he needed bloods, IV access and a CT head scan.
Before we could do any tests, he woke up and went totally apeshit. He was shouting “raaaaagh!” And trying to smash everything. His 2 sons, me, a senior doctor, 2 porters and 2 nurses had to restrain him but even all of us found it hard.
We ended up having to persuade an anaesthetist to put him to sleep with propofol (after lots of “fuck ethics” discussion).
It turned out he’d had a big mix of antidepressant meds, alcohol and cocaine.
I ached like hell the next day from the workout 😂.
