I'm pretty sure that the game I'm going to mention here won't "suit your taste" but if you're willing to get accustomed to "simple and minimalist graphics" (you can always install a graphics pack) and remain persistent, then you'll discover a whole new genre of games you wish you would have stumbled upon earlier. I'm talking about Dwarf Fortress but noteworthy alternatives are Rimworld and Factorio.

Just looking for suggestions on some fun co-op games . In strict lockdown here so going out is currently not an option and me and the dude have started co-op gaming more . Hes really good at all games a nerd type. Me , Im a bit shit to average. ( he has every single console ever from a speak and spell to ps5) but we have 2 pcs in the same room, and 2 switchs so can local co-op too

So far weve played Sea of Thieves, and have pretty much done everything in that and just wait for updates, totally love the game

currently playing far cry 5 and almost done ( have got 6 ordered) I think this game is fucking wonderful and I d love something similar. I think fc5 is so much fun and so immersive and would love something similar, open world.. where you can fight or can search for stuff etc etc

The 'Fallout' series. Resembles the 'Elder Scrolls' games but in a post nuclear war scenery. From the same developers.

Oh, you said co-op. Not sure about that.

The Fallout games by Bethesda studios are excellent, but don't forget New Vegas, which was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. That one is one of my personal favorites, especially modded on PC.

If you haven't tried the "SoulsBourne" series of games, those can be extremely fun as well. With Elden Ring being the latest and greatest title developed by From Software. Makers of the Dark Souls games, and Armored Core series as well (which are great games too).
