Yep. I’m a retired TelCo POTS repair tech. I am more than familiar with Ohm’s Law, yet these were the benchmark readings that were round about values to look for, and were easy for a 20yo trainee to remember back in the 1990s when Landlines were still booming buisness.

Footage imbalances, high resistance opens, series-parallel, parallel-series circuits, load coils, corrosion, dead side legs, non-standard wire, line voltage induction, DIY morons, novelty telephone sets and vermin make for an imperfect world.

My caption relates to an Off-Hook condition, and was meant to be a subtle indication that I had taken a break from the content of this site because it was getting overwhelming, and hardening me as a member of society.

Plus, there’s also this:
My dad BLEW another head gasket ( a couple times that year) when I put this together as I knew POTS lines are 600 ohm balanced audio systems with a 48VDC phantom power system JUST like the mics in the studio. Here's how I made a 1-1 balanced reference tap that DID NOT cause an "open" line condition ( I could record/broadcast at will by '75):

I understand how you can record a phone through induction, but I’m not understanding what you mean by “broadcast”. Are you describing a recording studio process ?

Why would you carry a handgun around in a little plastic carrier bag ? Especially when your a senile dodering old fart.....
Im like 90% sure its the guy who was shot who had it in his.... purse? Satchel? Fanny pack not on his waist? Fuck if i know what those things are called.

Oh shut up you fucking pinko liberal, i bet you were the kid in class who always made sure to remind the teacher about the homework.
Deadass that kid is better, at least they actually care about bettering their community (through education) rather than simply just saying they do, while actively destroying it.
