No not 90% that's an insanely high number. While this does happen it's not as wide spread as you may believe. I've been in healthcare for 13yrs and worked in several nursing homes and have only witnessed abuse once and it wasn't close to this bad. Also, the punishment for abuse is very serious. That being said, healthcare providers suffer a ton of abuse from patients. I've been scratched, bit, kicked, hit, spit on, cursed at etc etc etc way more times than I can count. Still, you can't retaliate like this even if you want to.
A few years ago in NC there was a really bad nursing home that was have a dementia fight club. They would bet on the residents and make them fight. Of course they had dementia so they couldn't tell anyone it was going on.
