Hyenas are a very strange beast. I read up on them a few years ago. Female sexual physical dimorphism builds the girls bigger and much more dominant than the males who the girls beat up at will.
The girls have lots of testosterone and enormous clitoris's that hang down like a penis. They find birth real tough as they give birth via this clitoris.
Kevin Richardson is very cool. His interactions with both hyenas and lions are most interesting.

Well, everyone has its place in the ecosystem.
But I was rooting for the lion...
Richardson's interactions provide an insight into these weird little beasts. they are evolutionarily related to cats and thus another example of parallel evolution.
