"Hilarious footage from the Super-G World Cup in Bormio : a dog suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the course. Frantic attempts to catch the dog during his appearance were futile. He wasn't wearing a race number and had clearly forgotten his skis.
Unexpected race interruption
There was widespread astonishment when, after a brief interruption due to a fall by Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin, the race was suddenly halted again. The spectators were stunned until the cameras zoomed in on what was happening: a dog was running on the course. Such a course is normally completely fenced off with netting, so it's suspected the dog must have found a gap somewhere. Meanwhile, the next athlete, German Sepp Ferstl, was already running at around 140 km/h but was fortunately stopped in time. The dog, however, kept running happily.
Unstoppable
The officials tried to stop him, but without success. At high speed, the dog cleverly evaded them. He half-slid down the slope after the impressive San Pietro jump , much to the amusement of the spectators. After a few minutes, he finally found a way out, and the race could resume. Because this four-legged friend avoided a considerable number of gates, he was disqualified from the final standings. This makes Swiss Marco Odermatt the rightful winner."
