Last summer my hvac stoped working. I called a hvac company for service. I was quoted $150 just for them to inspect it. I declined.
I took a paid day off from work. Did a 30 min search online. The drain pipe was clogged. A shop vac and drain line cleaner fixed the issue. Total cost $25.00 including a 12 pack of beer.

idk we got so many of them that it dont really matters much, but i heard in America you usually just got a couple per year and isnt there something else to do with them?


but more thinking about it, i guess i would even take the day off when the repair guy comes and not just let him do it by them self.

Do you own a large property with multiple units?
If that‘s the case then yes, you would have to rely on hvac technicians or at least I would.

I only have one unit for my home and I am no expert in ac units. Also my issue with the unit turned out to be simple. I was lucky too in that sense.

didnt got one at all, its not hot enough here to be useful, our houses are well insulated and it didnt get hot inside at all in the summer days, when its 40°C outside, the inside barely reached 30°C if you left the windows fully open, so we usually open them at night or just put them on "Kipp" so its just a crack open on the top, to let hot air out but not in and this its enough, but it rarely reaches these temperatures of 40°C anyway, maybe 1-5 days per year if at all

insulation > air-condition

but i get why the Americans do so, we build houses for generations and they stay 100+ years
in America they tear down a house as soon as someone moves out and just build a new one and spending the money on insulation isn't worth a through when you tear down the house a couple years later anyway, so its cheaper to run an air condition in these 3-5 years,

but if they would insulate their houses i bet they will use asbestos anyway cuz its "sooo cheap", so running an air-condition is even healthier then insulation in America

yea but it also has a down site, we cant use the none existing air-con for heating, these run cheaper if we would had them

i also really like these central air filter systems you got there, but something i always wonder about them because i smoke weed inside, could you smell it in the whole house or are the filter thaat good?

I don’t do drugs. Do an online search for your hvac issue. I am far from an expert. I was able to resolve my issue. Using a cleaner and a shop vac.

We don’t get any paid days off here that’s mandated by law like it much of Europe. If you work for a good company though you will get some from them, like a week to two paid vacation.
