The thing is, I can't figure out how to download videos from Reddit, when the "save video as" is greyed out. Then I am more or less forced to record it via other ways.
Grateful for a workaround.

You can extract the Reddit video's .m3u8 playlist URL using the Inspect feature of your web browser.

Below are screenshots of me using Google Chrome to extract the URL and VLC to download and transcode the content.

After you have the .m3u8 playlist URL, use VideoLAN Client (VLC Media Player) to download and convert the .m3u8 playlist to a video file on your workstation.

Wow, that's really technical! Yes, I know the VLC - it used top be on my laptops, but it started to act up. I'll give it another go.

I have no smartphone, if I can't download, I record them with my photo camera, but, as you can see, the quality is, well, sort of atrocious. Though some are better than others.
