my fave film. the acting, cinematograpy, clues and details more gripping than the later films,Released in 1986, it's the first movie adaptation of the novel Red Dragon. Personally, I like this version much better than the 2002 version, even though the 2002 version follows the novel more accurately. William Petersen and Tom Noonan are great in this one. Brian Cox does a great job as Hannibal Lecter, but nobody can portray Hannibal better than Anthony Hopkins. Check out Manhunter if you haven't seen it.

That's a remake. I haven't seen it. The original is actually pretty good and parts of it were filmed in and around my hometown.
