movies Last Movie You Watched..

Heavy trip. Finland. 2018.
10 outta fucking 10!!!
The ultimate metal comedy.
The plot is simple and kinda predictable, but the humour is really fucken solid which makes the film. I found myself laughing out loud most of the way thru it. If your not a metal fan some of the references will be lost and the music is pure death metal. But the film has enough in it that anyone could be entertained.
It was fun to see the T-shirts, the band references, the George 'corpsegrinder' Fisher head-banging style.
This is a movie i will re-watch again, and will enjoy.

The night eats the world. France.
3/10
A single actor zombie movie. No subtitles.
The tension is there is for the first 20+ mins then it becomes a 'how to manage alone' film. By the magical 40 min mark i had the remote in my hand was content to F.F. to the end. The marjority of the film is focused on just the one bloke in a building, but he doesn't make any attempt to go anywhere. Reminded me a 2010 german zombie film, Rammbock. Shorter in length with more characters and also set in a building. The plot was alot better.

About Andres Breivik's dual attack in Denmark. The action is over about 20 minutes in but it's worth a watch, if the subject interests you.

I watched that last night! Norway= nee denmark...they did make it look like the attack only lasted minutes but i think they did the rest quite well and anders lie did a good job showing breivik as a narcissistic twat. The Norwegian legal system as well, was well portrayed. Some of the small details, like breivik ordering the ferry to return from the island to pick him up, and the adults obliging. Ouch

Fucking Denmark! Duh!
It was good. When they asked him what's in the cases, "Weapons" he said. "Don't let the children see them. They'll be frightened." Yes they were.

Norskies are so gullible. The prime minister blamed himself, norway blamed itself. Silly square heads

Thirst. 2009. Dir. Park Chan Wook. South Korea.
8/10
A vampire drama.
The first time i tried to watch i fell asleep at the one hour mark, run time is 2hrs, since then iv watched a few other South Korean/asian films.
It's a slow burn with the main focus a priest turned vampire. Not a alot of gore or violence, a bunch of people do die, but not overly gruesome. The film has a few layers to it that slowly come to the surface. Not for everyone, but iv seen 7 of his movies now and i would rate them all pretty highly.

The blacksmith and the devil. 2018.
8/10
Based a fable and made into a decent movie.
The version i got was off Netflix so even thou the trailer has subtitles the netflix one doesn't, it's overdubbed with using american actors.
Kinda draft, but it does mean you can focus a bit more on the great scenery. Most of it seemed to be actual sets, except for a few scenes near the end, but that was understandable.
The plot was complex enough to be interesting, not confusing.
Basicly, a blacksmith sells his soul and hold the demon hostage. From there its layers up but kept me interested but not bored.

Carved. The slit mouthed woman. Japan 2007.
6.5/10
A 'evil sprit' story.
Kinda low budget, with a basicly scary woman. The main theme of the film is domestic physical child abuse. The story is well written and explains it self. There aren't any really good scares like some jap horror, but it does have some 'uncomfortable' moments.
Worth a look if you are a fan of asian horror and don't mind subtitles.

Les Demons. 1973. France.
6/10
Nuns are tortured in a dungeon of horrors after being possessed by demons.
After giving up on a film called The Dark within 10 mins, i started to watch this old french film.
Some of the scenes, which can be seen in the trailer, look like there straight out of a porn shoot. There were a range of these films being made at the time, Justine, based on the De Sade novel made in 1969, that was over the top in its abuse, but not as brutal as Salo made in 1975. So i knew what i was in for.
Overall, entertaining but not really rewatchable.

The trailer has been dubbed into german.

The tag along. 2015. Taiwan.
6/10.
Based on a urban legend that is referenced in the film, but only briefly.
Not quite the 'standard' asian horror that recycled dead women with long black hair, this has a little girl in a red dress.
Creepy at the start with sounds and movements but after a while it's not too surprising. Near the end there is a significant pile up of CGI that works OK. The story is layered and keep me interested. There is a sequel. Not interested.

The Meg. 2018.
Unrateable pile of shit.
I had a few things i wanted to sort out and instead of trying to watch a decent movie, i put this on in the background.
Wow. What a load of CGI garbage. Im glad i downloaded it for someone else as it was never on my list of films to watch.
Statham plays a 'typical' hero type, but comes across as SOOO fucken cheesy it's strange, he sticks out prouder than a honeymooners dick compared to the rest of the cast. It was laughable when at times when it was supposed to be serious, if that was possible, i rolled ny eyes so many times i thought i was going to get a headache.

Let the right one in. 2008. Sweden
7/10
A drama about a vampire and a little boy.
Slow and steady but really engaging. Even thou it has elements of horror, the storys focus is the vampire and the boy. A nice film that doesn't have loads of edited shots. There was the inevitable 'remake' because people are to lazy to read. I took a look at the final scene.
Compared to the original it was word for word, but rammed a lot more tension in. Won't be watching that.
