No sudden move. 2021.
4/10
Basic crime drama.
Three crims are paid to do a 'simple' job. But thing slowly spiral out of their control and they have to figure out who is behind it all.
Simple crime drama that doesn't really have any kind tension or drama. The plot has a large number of characters who appear at different times and places.
Interesting and well paced but lacking any kind of suspense. Plods along to a limp dick finish.

It was OK. Like a 6. I watched it yesterday.

House of tolerance. 2011. France
7/10
Life of a group of sex workers in the year 1900, Paris.
Interesting film that depicts their day to day life as the 'entertain' clients, usually the same men.
Slow and kinda boring, but interesting even thou it has no real plot. There is alot of nudity, tastefully done, and 90% of the film is set in the house.
As it goes on, the women has conversations about their situations and how they hope to leave but it is apparent none of them will ever able to.
There are few things that stand out, but's its just a nicely filmed very slow film arty kind of film.

Watching Tomorrow's war.
New Chris pratt time travelling alien film.
It's OK, quite good even. One I'll have to watch again and concentrate on.
Good special effects.
I just watched it and was OK till it got to the aliens being released because of
climate change

Thought that was a little weak. Story is predictable but yes the special effects were good. Could have been edited down a fair bit, seemed to drag on at parts.

I didn't even think of that. I didn't concentrate 100%.
I watched infinite with mark wahlberg last week. All I remember it there was a big house in it. Like a British mansion. Oh and guns.

I admit to being a little sensitive to shit being blamed on climate change. Kind of ironic they needed to find the aliens with gas burning helicopters and snowmobiles :rollseyes2:

I started watching it last night and fell asleep since it wasn't that interesting so can see the problem concentrating.

Guardians of the Galaxy II with Pratt was pretty decent IMO

Black widow will be out in 3-4 days. In cinema and dodgy in china probably. It's been ready for well over a year so hope it's worth the wait.
I started the walking dead as it's now on Disney+ and it's really good. Especially 1st series. Rick is very young. Bad batch is ok I spose

I know its likely going to suck but I am waiting for the new Ghostbusters. It was filmed in these parts and I kind of dig that.

I liked Walking Dead for about the first 4 or so seasons and thought it was quite good but it did get a little stale (seriously, how many fucking ways can you kill zombies or find non-zombie assholes?). But ya the cast are all young...hell, season 1 was from 2010.

Did you ever get into Fargo?

I didn't. It was recommended to me before by someone.
It will be cool having a movie filmed where you like! I think closest we have is scenes from full metal jacket were filmed in Redcar!
The new Ghostbusters has the original cast doesn't it? It should be awesome then!
I keep hearing that favreau and the other chap are making another trilogy for star wars which will make the last trilogy meaningless,as if it didn't happen. Somehow. That excites me! I have a weak spot for star wars. I think cos my dad loved it and he actually enjoyed buying me and my brother all the toys it's special to me. Book of boba fett should be really good. And darker than the mandalorian.

The first three seasons were IMO very good, also shot in Calgary and southern Alberta. Its kind of cool how the seasons jump back and forth in the timeline of the Fargo universe. Some references to the movie but they all basically stand alone re the main story. Good violence! Fourth season got very inclusionary with the introduction of a negro plot line which I did not enjoy. Not because it involved darkies but it was just very forced.

My understanding of the Ghostbusters movie is its a continuation of the first two movies (and thankfully has nothing to do with that abortion from Paul Feig and the golden girls) with the original actors having smallish roles. If they can pull it off it would be a nice reboot to a good concept.

Cool you have those memories about Starwars. I enjoyed the first three movies then sort of tapped out and haven't followed anything. I do remember my older brother taking me to the first one at a theater downtown. It must have around 1979ish. Weird because I ended up working in the building kitty corner to the theater 35 years later. He also took me to The Cat From Outer Space, a classic.

What did you in the war daddy? 1966.
5/10
WW2 comedy directed by Blake Edwards.
Amusing but slightly hit or miss comedy about US soldiers taking over a town with Italian troops who are keen to surrender but want to have a festival. Plans get upended when the americans still have to give the impression of 'fighting' and the germans turn up.
Over the top acting with some laugh out loud moments that soon get a bit mundane. The plot is interesting and keeps having elements added it as it progresses. Very colourful.

Ice Road.
Liam Neeson. A mine in winnipeg alaska turned off the methane gas detectors and paid the workers a whopping extra $100 per month to keep quiet. $1200 a year extra to possibly die from gas.
So there a gas explosion, miners are trapped, and they need drivers to take a thing to get rid of the gas and save the miners lives. On a ice road. The bosses of the mine don't want it to arrive so kill laurance Fishburn and try to kill the others. Liams brother who suffered a retardation injury in Iraq also dies.
They deliver the thing, lives are saved, Liam punches the boss then buys a Kensworth as it was his brothers dream.
It was watchable but not one to watch more than once.
I have seen others but I can't remember them.
Oh yeah, office space. Jennifer anniston and others are in it. I enjoyed it until I stopped paying attention then it ended. So probably OK.
