A criminal from England goes to the States, to find out what happened to his daughter.
Standard revenge thriller, not too many surprises, with a 90 minute run time. The way the film is edited makes it interesting to watch, it uses memories to establish the connection between the lead character and his dead daughter. Some other scenes are repeated or pure imagination. The lead actors cockney slang way of talking amongst the americans, provides a little spark of humour.

A robbery of a illegal card game leads to contracts on the lives of several people.
Slow burn crime drama, dialogue heavy, but with a bit over 90 minute run time, it sets up the story nicely. Throughout the film there are bits of audio and video from real politicians on the state of the economy, which could be seen as the brutal nature of greed and consequences.

i would of preferred eating a shit sandwich to finishing watching 28 yrs later.
director Danny "Boil" , indeed !! this bloated limp soggy fkn turkey of a movie got the stop button slapped 15 mins before the ending, i sunk my cuspids into better fare, namely the MASTERS of all zombie, KOREAN films.

hope the followup movie is better! trailer LOOKS awesome.
if bone temple does well. they are saying a follow up third movie will be in the works...

Drama about a pensioner who gets involved in phone scamming, due to her own misfortune. Small cast that centers on the main lead character. Two hour run time with a steady pace, it is a moderately bleak film, with a few simple plot threads that reoccur throughout.
Main takeaway is a modern society where the elderly are quietly ignored and are preyed upon by savy criminals.

A young bloke who is set up and gets caught with drugs, becomes a informant for a prosecutor. He is able to get in with dealers and set up a bust for the prosecutor.
Good crime drama that has a interesting plot, alot of characters, but with a two hour run time fails to really spark. There is the usual fall from grace, when a dealer exacts revenge on him. This is when the second hour starts, along with a disgruntled cop and a addict everything is switched around. But it doesn't feel like a ramping up of the story, it just continues along.

A typical white dressed, blonde haired gunman comes to a drunken town and converts them all to lemonade.
Interesting musical, that is set in the american wild west era.
Lighthearted film, it has a one colour saturation. The plot involves women falling for the 'hero' and brothers reuniting. Not a very engaging plot which made for a kinda tedious watch.

A captain in secret police just prior to WW2, gets a bunch of files of people he convicted as being 'enemies of the state'. He goes to the living relatives of some, tells them the truth and asks for their forgiveness, in order to avoid hell.
Slow burn drama that is both bleak and harsh. The plot is well crafted, as it is a dead comrade of his that informs him of his fate if he can't get one person to forgive him of his crimes. No levity or action scenes, it is a exploration of guilt built up over time, that weighs heavy on the lead character.

A Russian tank commander, taken prisoner, devises a way to escape using a tank.
Set in WW2, its a tank battle action film. There is a rivalry set up at the start between a german officer and the russian. The action scenes are well filmed, with slow motion adding a level of interest as the shells have near misses. The plot has a semi dramatic element, which is inserted at different points. It does slow the film down some what in the 2nd hour.

Brad Pitt has some pretty good movies, although his recent ones have a lot of Jewish themes, so I don't watch them, but these were really great a long time ago:

Yesterday I watched Gran Torino (2008) with Clint Eastwood
It's an interesting movie, an unusual style from Eastwood, except for the usual neurotic style of Eastwood, that's the usual haha
I don't understand why there are such Thais(?) in it and why Eastwood stands by them and in the end why he commits suicide because of them by shooting himself to death
It's as if he can't come to terms with his own memories and conscience from World War II throughout the entire movie and the only reason he thinks it can be concluded this way is because he rushes into his own suicide
