Beauty water. South Korea. 2020.
5/10.
A quest to look 'beautiful'.
Using a product that can give the user a chance to sculp their skin results in one woman gaining the attention she wants but also losing everything as she tries to maintain the image.
Interesting animation looking at the age defying cosmetics that dominate society. Some elements of horror but the plot was mainly centered on the relationships she gained and the people who were left in her wake. There was a twist near the end, but it kinda felt uneven.

The 2015 American remake is a travesty to the original.

Subtitles are your friend.

Yakuza and the family. 2020. Japan.
8/10
A young street thug joins a Yakuza family and ultimately pays a heavy price.
When a war breaks out between two rival clans, the young loyalist takes the blame for a murder after his friend was assassinated.
14 years go by and when is released (2019) he quickly finds that being a Yakuza means you have basicly no human rights, and if you give up the gang, society will still punish you for a further 5 years.
Good drama about the reality of organised crime in Japan and how it has punished some elements while others are free to continue. Slow but not boring. Brutal in the way anyone associated with a ex gangster is also dragged down.
Tralier has no english subs.

Happy cleaners.
6/10
Korean family living in America.
A clash of cultures as the young korean american children want to live their own way as opposed to their parents.
Interesting film that is slow but engaging. The plot doesn't have any surprises and it follows what could be called a 'standard pattern'.

Khaneh Siah Ast (The House Is Black). 1963. Iran.
9/10
A 20 minute short film that shows the people and some parts of how they live in a leper colony, northern Iran.
The film shows men, women and children that have all been affected by the leprosy. It states at the beginning that the purpose of the film is to show the ugliness of them and have the viewer see that they are people as well.
The film is narrated with religious text and poetry by Forugh Farrokhzad, a female poet and one of the directors.
It has a artistic style to the way it is edited, but shows the day to day life in the colony.

Evil dead trap. 1988. Japan.
7/10
A late night news reporter goes looking for a murdered woman on a video tape she was sent.
The set up is familar, group of people go to a abandoned building, serial killer pick them off one by one. The kills are gory and the setting is large. It's near the end when the main character meets the killer that strange factor kicks in when it turns out the killer has a monster inside him directing him to kill. The effects are all practical which adds to horror.

I'm currently watching Terry Pratchett's the Watch.
I'm not sure if I like it or if it's shit.
Does anyone else have any info on this series?
I watched the Angelina Jolie those who wish me dead the other day.
A man dies and as far as I recall we don't find out why. Angelina Jolie is far too skinny and is no longer on my rape list.
Zombie film is out tomorrow. I'll be watching that. Army of the dead.
Bad batch is good. Still haven't watched clone wars.
Want to watch the spiral cos of cris rock. Think saw was shit.

It’s pretty divisive for a series because two different seasons were made out of it
But Jon Cryer’s comedy evolution got better and better in it, in the end he was a much better comedian than Charlie Sheen and Ashton Kutcher
(Does anyone know if someone shot other comedy besides Jon Cryer?)
With Charlie Sheen was a bit slower, the series was more serious but still funny, with Ashton Kutcher and more youthful, but next to Kutcher, a lot of unnecessary supporting characters appeared.
Many hot white womans act under the under the series, like Kelly Stables,Jenny McCarthy,Denise Richards,Maggie Lawson
Love to see Jon Cryer another comedy in the future. he's a real comedy talent

Army of the dead. 2021.
3/10
Hired guns go to get a HUGE pile of physical cash from a casino overrun with zombies. One by one they fall victim to the zombies.
Run of the mill entertainment that will entertain some. Snyder takes the zombies one step further in the fact they are now 'smart'.
Not a new concept. (Land of the dead.) There is also references to ALIENS.
The film showed that Dave Bautista has some acting potential, it was quick paced in the way it got things happening, but never really got me interested.

Westworld. 1973
7/10
A robot world goes haywire and starts killing the guests.
Written and directed by Michael Crichton, it's a decent action film with a run time of 90mins. It moves along and includes scenes from the other 'worlds' but maintains a focus on the Western park.
With the creators able to see whats going wrong and not being 'blindly ignorant' it adds a interesting element.
Followed with a series by HBO a few years ago that was kinda interesting but became garbage.
