Manager in a sales company kills his family, but is never found.
Interesting film that is part crime but mostly thriller. Centers on the work culture of a white collar company and a young female intern.
The film uses alot of flashbacks and set ups the cause the characters to doubt what they see. This works well for a while, but half way thru it became a little tedious. It uses this technique well, but with a lack of actual story the messiness of it, suggests a mental unbalance in a worker and thus the twist is revealed before the end.

A cop gets involved with a woman and her daughter.
Filmed with a style similar to Italian horror director Lucio Fulci. It has a malevolent spirit of the dead father following the mother and daughter. It relies alot on the dialogue and the idea of fate. Interesting but did get a little tedious.

Action cop drama starring Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Kotto as cops trying to solve the case as the gangsters from Harlem and the mob try to get the money back. Solid film that even with a simple plot, really showcases the racism that exists. Quinn is violent, corrupt and older while Kotto is firm and disciplined. The gangsters also has issues with each other. Moves at a steady pace with typical 70's stunts, but a satisfying conclusion.

A group of survivors live on a island that is only accessible at low tide. The first hour of the film is gritty and fast. It shows how the 'infected' have evolved and still retains the intensity of the first film. However, when the 2nd hour starts it becomes a mash up of different ideas that deviate strangely from the start. Knowing that there is already a forth film, from a different director that continues this on. It already looks it evolved into a meaningless cash grab franchise.

Yeah, couldn't agree more. Had high hopes but fucking hell, it was a pile of shite. A real pity because those first 2 films still stand up. A cash grab franchise indeed. That ending was absolute tripe and based on it, would you be actually be arsed going to see the next one? The trailer did all the heavy lifting for this film, it actually seemed like it might be quite good. Ah well.

No. It's made by the woman who remade candyman. She's a good director, but there's alot to be said about the way studios control and produce films purely for commercial gain.

That's more than a few steps away from 28 years. Iv seen a couple of that directors films, including Possession.
Great choice, will have to put it on myself with a strong coffee.

American and British leaders have to get along and fight their thru hundreds of henchmen.
Very laughable action comedy starring two actors who were previously in The Suicide Squad together.
The plot is kinda bloated but standard 'save the world' stuff, the two lead characters are shallow stereotypes that argue all the time, makes the film entertaining, but does get a little repetitive. Way over the top action scenes enhanced by alot of cgi and some clever editing pick it up when it needs it.

A foster mum with a young boy, takes in two kids whose father has died.
Aussie horror that has a great concept and several aspects to it. The natural realism of the situation with two new young actors, the mute boy and his violent outbursts add 'classic gore'. Sally Hawkins really brings a level of menace and unbalance. Overall well written and directed but with a slightly disjointed feel.

A soldier in a militia leaves the patrol to fight with the revolution that is taking place.
Set over one night in dec 1989, a slow burn drama with a slight bit of humour at times. It shows a quieter side of what happened, but still has elements of the confusion. 90 minute run time, keeps the attention by having the search continue and showing the where the runaway soldier is.

Was something to watch , didnt suck near as bad as I expected, and since I went into it thinking it was going to suck I wasnt disappointed so 5/10;
