Lindsay Lohan is looking to make her move to the UK more permanent because she wants to get away from the gossip of the US.
The actress spoke about her plans at the Ischia Global Film and Music Festival, saying that ‘it feels really good to be able to turn on the TV and not see everything be about gossip.’
‘I’ve noticed when I’m watching the news here and such, you guys have such a different outlook,’ she told BBC News.
‘In the U.S., starting at 5 p.m., it’s TMZ and all of these shows that are just talking about people’s personal lives that are in the industry.’
‘Here, I don’t notice any of that, Lindsay remarked. ‘It’s more news and politics and music.’
Lohan has spent the last few months in London, living in hotel rooms and enjoying socialising at various celebrity hotspots including The Chiltern Firehouse and Scotts restaurant.
The 28-year-old made the comments as she stepped out in a glittery metallic dress that highlighted her lean curves while attending a gala dinner at the festival in Italy on Monday.
Lindsay took center stage sashaying across the room as the sparkling number swayed along with her svelte figure.
She teamed her fluid frock with a pair of shiny gold heels and a white handbag and wore her signature fiery locks down with loose wavy curls cascading down her shoulders.
Sporting a orange summer glow, Lindsay may have overdone it a tad sporting a lot of golden bronze tanning makeup on her normally pale face, body and legs.
While being escorted around the event by handsome man, the Liz & Dick actress appeared to sport a very concerned look on her face.
Afterwards she struck an awkward pose while taking a picture with a well dressed gentleman.
Meanwhile, Lindsay is getting ready to star in her first West End production, Speed The Plow, by David Mamet.
While she has been known for being unreliable while working on films in the past, she has made it clear that she intends to commit to the role and has promised to not miss any shows during the 10-week run.
'That's not on the cards. It's not,' the rehabbed beauty recently told BBC News.
'I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it.'
She's enthusiastic that the theatre production will help rehabilitate her career and public image which are now her main priority.
'I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation,' she said.
'However long it does take, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to work for it.'
Although rehearsals for the show haven't begun, the Mean Girls star revealed she is 'very lucky and excited and nervous' to make her stage debut in the UK.
'There's a different standard to it here. It seems more prestigious. It seems a bit more serious and that's something that I really want to experience.'
Speed The Plow is set to open on September 24 at The Playhouse Theatre.
