List 5 things that scared you as a kid and why

The number one scary thing on my list is spiders. When I was a kid I played with the little eight legged devils, even put a bunch of black widows in my sisters underwear drawer. BUT, we moved into a new house, (old but new to us) when I was 11 or 12, when we first moved in we were finding all kinds of spiders everywhere but mostly black widow's. The window in my room was broken so my dad put a piece of plywood over it and when we turned out the light the room truly became black ass dark!! One night I was just laying in bed talking to my sister in the fucking ink black dark, when suddenly a HUGE BLACK WIDOW SPIDER landed right in the middle of my 12 year old FACE!! Do you know, I was frozen, FROZEN, in fear!! I could not even breath as this inky black poisonous freak of nature walked slowly over my terrified face!! For what seemed like 10 years I laid there and could not move! Finally I found my voice at the same time my body came to life!! You know the cartoon tornado on the Bugs Bunny Cartoons? That is probably as close to describing what I looked like at that moment. My sister freaked out and turned on the light to see me in midair flailing wildly at nothing that she could see! As soon as she found the black bitch she freaked out too!! My parents and brothers were in the doorway watching the show and helped me NOT!
From that day on I am scared shitless of spiders and the dark. Before I was traumatized by the spider I was only afraid of the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz and maggots. Now I am afraid of the flying monkeys, spiders and the dark. I still don't like maggots but they don't scare me anymore.

I use to have dreams of my dad being taken away, killed or anything crazy till I was out of highs school. The when I was 19 my parents split up. It's been 6 years since I've seen him. My dreams came true in a horrible way...

I was deathly afraid of pine cones when I was a kid. I would start shrieking that they were dead and cry uncontrollably.

Eventually, my parents figured out it was bc I desperately needed glasses. I thought the pine cones were dead squirrels.

Other than that- a window without a curtain at night because monsters could look in and see you, leaving my drink unattended (because evil spirits poison drinks when you're not around), leaving the house without my family- I would write them notes left under my pillow to find incase I died most days until I was 12ish, and April 26th which I'm still afraid of bc of a reoccurring dream I died two days before my birthday.

I was kind of a creepy kid...

Umm wow. Did you ever go to the police about it later in life?

I wasn't afraid of really creepy things. The average stuff freaked me out.
I was and still am afraid of clowns, like many other people. I remember, that my grandmother had a huge collection of porcelain dolls, one of them a really creepy clown. I couldn't sleep in the same room at night, when this creepy thing was there as well. It was weird, as if it was starring and laughing at you.
The next thing was this annoying sound the drill of the dentist makes, while he is messing around with your teeth. The thing itself never scared me, but I freaked out, when I had to hear it. Thumbs up for anesthesia.
When I was younger, I also had a huge water phobia. Only open water, like swimming pools or the sea. Goes back to the elementary school, when my stupid teacher nearly drowned me.
I was also afraid of priests. I'm not a Christian, never was. So I never was in a church for spiritual shit, only for the construction of the buildings (when I was older). I was on my way to school and saw a bunch of creepy man, in long silk dresses, singing around. With the sound of the bells and all the stuff. Freaked me out. When my aunt told me, this was normal and that many people are joining the speeches (she as well), I haven't talked to her, until I found out, that it really was nothing criminal lol It seemed to me, like they were trying to abduct people and sell them. There is a tale called the 'The Pied Paper Of Hamelin', it's about a rat plague in a town and a dude, who is able to control the rats with his flute. The town promises him a huge amount of money, if he's able to bring the rats out of town. After he has done this, they refused to pay and so he played a song to hypnotize the children of the liars and left the town with them. The church seemed to be the same for me.
I also was afraid of open toilets, especially the outhouses. Ah fuck, during a trip with my parents, an old man told me, that if I would stare long enough into the water or even sit to long on the toilet, without knowledge, a weird and slimy 'thing' would come up from the ground and take me away with him. Horrible memory lol

The dark and enclosed places. My sister used to lock me in the closet when she was babysitting me. That way she didn't have to mess or do anything with me. Then threaten me so I wouldn't tell on her. She was 4 years older and out weighed me by at least 100 lbs. To this day, I am claustrophobic.

what i was really afraid of was the cementary -
i also was very afraid of ghosts and demons and the paranormal - stuff like this is really creepy to me... but in other way i was very courios of everything what seems to be paranormal
sharks - every time when i swim in open water and i dont know what is under me in the water
the movie "it" of stephen king - damn this was really scary as a kid
and last but not least the darkness - since today i dont feel confortable when im alone at home and its dark

When was this the 1950s?

1. Aliens- For some reason nothing scarred me as much as abduction by people. When I saw a documentary that was past my bedtime though about aliens, this fear became more intense. I can remember the documentary talking about a person waking up in the middle of the night fully paralyzed and that was when the Alien would take them. I was naive at the time to believe it and I would make myself sick with fear thinking about it every night before bed until I was alright with the idea. You know what they say, if something feels wrong , think about/do it until it feels right. This phrase helped me with a good portion of my fears.

2. Possibility of No one ever listening to me or caring about me. Sadly this is a fear I still struggle with a bit. I see people sometimes as small figures with a chip that has them respond differently to the things I say. I feel like my words may trigger them to not care about me even if it wasn't intentional. Of course envisioning everyone in groups I guess I should have been used to it by now. I feel like I will be used to this fear one day. Maybe this fear could become a dream considering if there is no one there, there are no limits to what you can do when you have nothing to lose and no one to hurt.

3. Making someone cry- This one backfired. I don't mind watchign people cry now considering I have seen it often. When I was younger I thought when people cried, abandonment would soon follow. I know now, that is not the case.

4.Naked people- Naked people petrified me with fear when I was little. I remember being so afraid of it I would make myself accidentally see it whenever I closed my eyes. I onetime saw a nude person on the television when I was small and I cried about it.

5. Boredom- This fear will never be conquered. When I was little I would have fears that I would be confined to staring at one thing for the rest of my life. Wallpaper was one, I remember thinking about different geometrical designs and BAM the thought came "What if I had to stare at this putrid thing forever?" and I would make myself really fear that was what would happen to me when I would die.

For some reason, wide rooms, and when I say wide rooms, I mean wider than they are tall. Especially without mid-room supports, because I fear that one structual flaw can foce it to collape infrom of, or even on me. Another thing is flails. You know, the medieval weapon that is a studded iron ball(or sometimes cylinder) connected to a cylinder handle by 5-10 chain links? It had always looked to leathal. Next is the fear of ink poisoning. My father always explained to me the pain and incurable facts that too much ink in your body in a long term amount of time can kill you easily and that you don't need to ingest that much to get affects. But then I learned you need to allow more than 250 mL of your everyday, common pen ink in order to start feeling effects. Fourthly, you have the chance of having a heart attack everyday(whether it be almost calculable for some to find out their odds), and it's a very painful and long(for it's amount of pain) process that one would not want to end with(not including the fact that you're finally dying). But on my new outlook on life I have, I don't mind it. Once you have one, you're very likely to be done. Lastly, I always thought that if I think about something to hard, and I ask a question the universe didn't want me to ask, and it's like "Ohhh yeah...", like fore example; I say "How does ozone protect us from ultra violet rays?" and then all the sudden our ozone is useless and we instantly die of over exposure to U.V radiation. But, now I have assured myself that(quite the majority of) those are most likely is untrue.

1. The Black Cauldron, animated movie. Creepy as fuuuuuck.
2. The possibility of war near my house. 9/11 was a day I remember vividly because my mom pulled us out of school early, took us to a "safe" area on our friends' air field property, and mentioned things like taking a trip to somewhere for safety. Hearing about war in other countries is one thing, imagining it at home is another.
3. Getting caught masturbating
4. Extreme heights
5. Alf

I was kind of a creepy kid...
I used to write suicide notes, leave them where my mom would find them, and then hide for a couple hours at a time. I was 10ish or so at the time.

The theme song of the Amityville Horror.....its just creepy.

Blankets over my face. Still have this one.

"The Boogeyman" short story, S. King. The first story that actually scared me. I read it when I was about 10.

An evil, blood thirsty, grey metal fan we owned. Seriously, this thing was the stuff horror stories are made of.

1. Bathrooms at night
2. Bloody Mary
3. The Shamu tank at Sea World
4. The Muppets
5. This fucking movie. The first 2 minutes of the video is the scene that haunted my childhood.
