Warning: Children Little dude probably broke his back

Warning
This right here is what a coach who is training said child would use to help prevent that kind of bend from happening. Obviously, they don't care to pay attention.

To me, that looks like it's covering a cable. Let's say the coach was paying attention, what should he have done?
Typically they are able to slide the pad on in a split second. Would it have worked, hard to say, in order for it to even have a chance the coach or a spotter would be up on the end of it with pad in position to put it in position. I've seen many videos of coaches or spotters do this when training. They can't do it during events, which could be why it wasnt done here. Who knows...

TY. I think that it would have required a lot of padding.

@Flatus Tube what is the probability of breaking Spine here?

In this case, actually quite low. A young gymnast is stupidly flexible with strong bones; ligaments and tendons due to their training. The bars are also flexible to allow a spring effect which absorbs some of the impact.

This would still hurt like a bitch and require a break from training.
